I'll Start Monday

A common theme to my weight loss stutter starts relate to always having to start on a Monday or the first or fifteenth of every month and when, like this coming month, the first falls on a Monday that is the epic start date to wait for. I also have to have everything in order. I have to have my heart rate monitor, my workout log, a tv show or movie to watch on the treadmill, and cold water. Depending on the day, there could be more on the list. It is, of course, a ridiculous list of must haves to workout. It is the mindset I have when I really do not want to workout, but really need to workout.

Today, however, I went outside my comfort zone and went for it. I worked out a whole thirty minutes on the treadmill. I know it is not much in the way of working out, but I have the whole knee thing and I tend to start things at full force and feel overwhelmed a couple weeks down the road. So I am going for a whole new angle this time. I am going to just start out with the treadmill for a half hour a day and go from there, which may kill me. I would rather jump right in and feel like I am making progress.

Next week I will also try ease on into a better meal plan. I am going to try and cut the sugar down to 3g per meal. I have done this before when I went on the whole food meal plan at Northwest before it was taken over by the more glamorous Lifetime. My nutritionist, Thia, was the first person who put me into something that worked for me. Bread? Ok. Butter? Ok. Chocolate? Ok, well dark chocolate anyway. I was worried to start, but it really worked for me. So why did I stop, right? It is really easy to be on a weird meal plan where all the people around you support you, but when you meet a cute boy and he wants to cook you dinner, well explaining that you don't eat anything with yeast or vinegar. Well, it is a weird conversation to get into. Oh, and the biggest reason, I'm lazy. So today I reset my countdown for two weeks of treadmilling. Good times, good times, well maybe at some point I will enjoy it.
