Day 2 - Spike Day

Today is the first day of my meal plan and I start with my Spike day. Basically, I eat healthy and workoout for six days of the week and on the seventh day I get to almost double my daily intake and can have whatever I want. Personally, I thought this would be an easy task, I have been Spiking my face off the past few months. I ended up 1000 calories short...say what? I am not too worried about falling short today, I am not really shocking my body into anything since it is just par for the course. Tomorrow will be more of a shock to my system than anything.

Here is a video of Russ talking about Spike:

Part of my problem is accountability. I have to keep a food diary and watch my calories and Russ will check it out to make sure that I am not cheating. Tracking my food is not a joy at all. The nice part is that the app Russ suggested is really easy to use. It is called MyFitnessPal. You can access it online but can also use the app for either the iPhone or Droid. I haven't even looked at it online yet, but installed the Droid app on my phone and love it. It has an amazing database of food, but the coolest part, and it is really cool, is the barcode reader. You can scan the barcode of any food item with your phone and it has all the nutrition information listed for you. So yes, I am geeking out to a food app, but give me something to enjoy right now.

Oh and FYI, I just about toppled over when I searched for a medium Reese's Concrete Mixer from Culver's...it was 986 calories. Glad I wasn't throwing down too many of those before today or my journey would be a lot longer than it is already.
